Baconfest Opens This Weekend–June 18 & 19, 2016

Put the Sizzle in Father’s Day Weekend with Bacon, Beer & Bands!

Lathrop, California- Baconfest at Dell’Osso Family Farm in Lathrop opens this weekend, Saturday and Sunday, June 18th and 19th. Gates open Saturday from 9am to 10pm and Sunday from 9am to 8pm with the last entry two hours before closing. It’s the perfect gift for Father’s Day—bacon, beer & bands!

Baconfest is a celebration of America’s Mightiest Meat and features Guy Fieri, chef, restaurateur and host of Diners Drive-ins & Dives who will be on stage both days emceeing rounds of “Mystery Basket Style” amateur and professional bacon cooking contests.

The Baconfest weekend features non-stop live music with 21 bands on two stages and top breweries serving sample and full size beers.

Bacon lovers can eat their way through Bacon Alley’s bacon-obsessed food vendors and enjoy the unique Sunnyvalley Bacon Bar featuring Sunnyvalley Smoked Meat’s popular bacon.

Some of the tasty new bacon dishes will be discovered in Baconfest’s Maple Bacon Ice Cream; Deep Fried Bacon on a Stick (bacon dipped in corn dog batter, fried and topped off with a syrup drizzle) and sure to be a sizzling new Baconfest favorite– Kick’n Bourbon Bacon—bacon dipped in bourbon, coated with cayenne pepper and brown sugar then served in a shot glass. Bacon seekers will also enjoy bacon favorites like Bacon Mac N Cheese; Bacon, Tomato & Blue Cheese Salad; Chicharrones–plain and spicy.

Baconfest is fun for the whole family with amateur and professional bacon eating contests, the Sysco Cooking Demonstration and Education Stages, a variety of classic and muscle cars from Mid Valley Chevy Club, the Dell’Osso Farm Apple Blasters and free kids’ activities and rides like the Dell’Osso Express Train, Kids’ Ferris Wheel and Roller Coaster, Spinning Pumpkin and Bounce Pillows, the Dell’Osso Pedal Car Speedway and two kids’ play areas.

Baconfest features unique Arts & Crafts vendors, The Wine Pavilion, the best Bloody Mary’s on the planet and popular commercial products and services available for purchase.

Tickets are available online at www.baconfest.com and are $25 for Adults (15 and older) $12.50 for children ages 6-14 and children 5 and under are free. Advance online ticket purchases are recommended to avoid waiting in lines and are the same price as on site ticket purchases. Parking is free.
