The Baconfest Amateur Bacon Eating contest is your chance to get your fill of Sunnyvalley’s superior bacon in a mouthwatering and savory competition. So if you’re a bacon lover, step up and chew your way to becoming an amateur bacon eating champion!
We’re looking for contestants that have what it takes to finish 2 pounds of cooked crispy Sunnyvalley bacon faster than anyone else! Enter the Baconfest Amateur Bacon Eating Contest and we guarantee you won’t walk away hungry. Bring your friends and challenge them to compete and egg you on to victory!
Entry Information
- Contestants must purchase a ticket to Baconfest on September 9th, 2017. Contestants must sign-up in advance by filling out our form, signing & scanning the waiver and returning by email by August 9th.
- The Amateur Bacon Eating Contest time TBD on the Main Contest Stage.
- Only 10 bacon eating competitor spots are available. These will be assigned on a first come first served basis at the discretion of Baconfest’s Amateur Bacon Eating Contest committee, so register early! You will be notified by email by Monday, August 28th.
- Bacon eaters who wish to compete must sign the Baconfest contest release waiver and email it to Baconfest at [email protected].
Eating Contest Process/Rules
- Participants must be 18 or older and a valid ID is required.
- Baconfest will also conduct a Professional Bacon Eating Contest so, please, no professional competitive eaters should apply to the amateur contest. Professionals can apply for the Professional Contest online at www.baconfest.com.
- Contestants must report to the contest area prior to contest (time TBD) If you do not check in by the required time you will forfeit your spot in the contest.
- Eaters will be allowed to drink water as needed while competing.
- Eaters will receive a pre-weighed 2 pounds of fried, crispy Sunnyvalley bacon.
- The first to finish eating the pre-weighed amount of bacon or the contestant with the least weight of bacon left at the end of the 5 minute time period will be crowned winner.
- Throwing up will result in disqualification from the contest.
- Eaters must remain seated upon conclusion until judges release you.
- In the event of a tie, a one-minute eat-off will be held.
Prizes
First Prize – One year supply of Sunnyvalley Smoked Meat’s outstanding bacon awarded by coupon for a 40 ounce package of Sunnyvalley Bacon—one a month for twelve months and a Baconfest “Amateur Bacon Eating Contest Winner” Trophy.
2017 Amateur Bacon Eating Contest Waiver:
Acknowledgment of Risks and Waiver of Liability
Contestant acknowledges that there are risks of personal injury, illness and possible loss of life, and risks of damage to or loss of personal property, which may result from participating in this contest.
Contestant voluntarily enters contest and assumes all of these risks.
Contestant, as a condition of entry, agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Baconfest, Sunnyvalley Smoked Meats, Dell’Osso Family Farm and all officers, directors, employees, volunteers, agents and sponsors of the aforesaid entities, from any and all claims and costs, including attorneys’ fees, arising from or in connection with participation in this contest or the receipt or use of any prize. In so doing, contestant releases and indemnifies the aforesaid entities and individuals from liability for injuries or damages of any kind arising from or in connection with participation in this contest or the receipt or use of any prize, except where such claims or costs arise out of the indemnified party’s gross negligence.
