What is Baconfest all about?

Baconfest 2017 is Dell’Osso Family Farm’s second annual celebration of America’s mightiest meat and takes place , September 9 & 10, 2017 in Lathrop, California. Gates open 9a-6p Saturday & 9a-6p Sunday. Come out and see the weekend’s bacon-obsessed amateur and professional “Mystery Basket” cook-offs with prizes awarded by celebrity judges. There are live bands on the main stage, bacon eating contests, cooking demonstrations, dozens of gourmet Bacon Alley Food Vendors and one-of-a-kind crafts and commercial products for sale. Enjoy many microbrews and the unique Sunnyvalley “Bacon Bar.”

How do I get to Baconfest on Dell’Osso Family Farm in Lathrop?

From the Bay Area: Take I-580 east to I-205 toward Tracy. After the I-5 merge to Sacramento, take the first exit #460 at Mossdale Road. Turn right at stop sign, then make first right and go under the freeway. Turn right onto S. Manthey Road. We are on the left. You are there!

From Sacramento: Take I-5 south through Stockton/ Lathrop. Take the Manthey Road exit #460, turn right at stop sign. Follow approximately .41 miles to Dell’Osso Family Farm on the left.

From Modesto: Take SR-99 to SR-120 to I-5 South. Take the first exit (just before I-205) Exit #460 at Manthey Road, turn right at the stop sign. Follow approximately .41 miles to Dell’Osso Family Farm on the left.

How much are tickets?

Advance Tickets are available online here and are $25 for adults, $12.50 for kids 6-14 and 5 and under are FREE.  Single day admission only. Tickets includes one day General Admission, all stage events & band performances. Tickets may be purchased at the gate with cash or credit card (Visa, Master Card, American Express or Discover). ATMs are available at the information booth.

What should I wear and what can I bring?

The festival is held outdoors and subject to hot weather. Prepare for lots of eating, shopping, and walking! For your comfort, we recommend that you:

  • Wear comfortable shoes. You will be walking on grass, gravel, dirt, and asphalt. There may be some uneven ground, particularly in the parking lots.
  • Dress in layers although September usually has sunny and warm weather.
  • Bring sun protection. It can get hot in Lathrop, so bring a hat, sunglasses and sunscreen.
  • Shirt and shoes are required at all times.
  • Low lawn chairs can be brought in for your comfort.

It is the Dell’Osso Family Farm’s policy to provide a safe, family-friendly atmosphere for all patrons and volunteers. We reserve the right to refuse entry or admission to anyone wearing clothing or paraphernalia indicating or signifying membership in a gang, including a motorcycle club. This policy is applied equally to all persons, regardless of their sex, race, color, religion, ancestry, national origin, disability or medical condition. We ask all patrons to drink responsibly and to have designated drivers if consuming alcohol.

Prohibited from the festival grounds are:

  • Alcohol of any kind
  • Bottles, glass and cans
  • Coolers – large or small
  • Frisbees and water projecting devices
  • Pocketknives and weapons of any kind
  • Food
  • Pop-up canopies/tents

How do I pay for food & beverage?

A lot of food and beer will be located in “Bacon Alley” where small plates of unique bacon dishes can be purchased. A ticket system will be used for all alcoholic beverages. Food and non-alcoholic beverages can be purchased with cash or credit card (this may vary by vendor).

How much is beer?

Beer is $5 and $6 a serving depending on the size. You must be 21 or older and have a wrist band to purchase tickets for beer and wine.

Is parking Free?

Yes! All Dell’Osso Family Farm events have free parking.

Can I bring my kids?

Baconfest is family-oriented and has free fun for kids like the Dell’Osso Express Train, Kid’s Ferris Wheel and Roller Coaster, the Pedal Car Speedway, bounce pillows and a variety of kids’ play areas.

Is there public transportation?

Not directly to the farm, but you can always take a cab or Uber.

Is there RV parking?

Yes, please ask our parking attendants for the best place to park your vehicle depending on its size.

What if it rains?

Baconfest will take place rain or shine! There will be no refunds of tickets for weather.

Can I bring my pet?

The family dog (up to 25 lbs) is welcome at the farm, however we ask that you keep your pet on a leash at all times. Pets are not allowed on any of the rides. We ask that you use good judgement since you know your pet better than we do. Service animals are welcome.

Will there be a bag check?

No.

Do you have handicapped or disabled access to parking and restrooms?

Yes, the Dell’Osso Family Farm does offer accommodations for disabled guests. However, there are some things to keep in mind.

There is a paved parking lot for attendees displaying a valid handicapped plate or placard. Please have your placard displayed as soon as you exit the highway.

Please note that Dell’Osso Family Farm has some gravel and some uneven ground in the festival. The festival grounds are mostly gravel, compact dirt, and asphalt walk corridors.

There are handicapped restroom facilities in the handicapped parking lot and at the many restroom areas throughout the park. There are many shade tents with tables and benches throughout the farm grounds.
